or: The place where additional features live (if they want to configure something)
vanilla9 is built in a modular way.
This means certain components or modules can bring their own features and sometimes their own settings.
That is exactly what this section is for.
Components & Modules
Here you will see the settings of active components.
If a module registers configurable options, they automatically appear here.
You do not need to search through hidden submenus to find them.
In short: if a component has something to configure, it shows up here.
Current State
In the screenshot you see: No Settings
This simply means that currently no active component provides its own configuration options.
Or in other words: the system is pleasantly quiet and does not require anything from you.
Why this section exists
vanilla9 is designed to stay extendable.
New features or modules can later add things like:
– their own options
– their own configurations
– their own settings
Instead of overloading the main settings menu, those options appear dynamically right here.
In short
This section is the parking space for module settings.
If a component wants to be configured, it appears here.
If not, you can simply enjoy the rare situation of software that does not ask you to configure even more things.
That does happen sometimes.
